NBC Meet the Press with Chuck Todd kept its winning streak alive, winning this past Sunday and the February 2019 sweeps period.
That’s now five consecutive sweeps victories for MTP, and marks the third consecutive year MTP has won the February sweep among total viewers and fourth consecutive year MTP has won the February sweep among A25-54 demo viewers.
On the downside, MTP continues to lose viewers vs. last year (though that’s true for everyone on Sundays). Versus the comparable week in 2018, MTP was -3 percent in total viewers, and -29 percent in A25-54 viewers.
An additional 1.02 million total viewers and 180,000 demo viewers watched reruns on NBC and MSNBC.
However, MTP wasn’t the only show to fall year-over-year. CBS Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan finished No. 2 total viewers and No. 2 in A25-54 viewers for February sweeps. For this past Sunday, the broadcast finished No. 2 in total viewers, but No. 3 in demo viewers. Year-over-year, Face the Nation was -2 percent in total viewers and -6 percent in A25-54 viewers.
ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos ranked No. 3 in total viewers, and No. 3 in A25-54 viewers for February sweeps. This past week, the broadcast was still No. 3in total viewers, but No. 2 in A25-54 viewers. Compared to the same week last year, This Week was -7 percent in total viewers, and -14 percent in A25-54 viewers.
Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace on Fox Broadcasting held steady in total viewers, but was -13 percent among adults 25-54. The trio of cable replays delivered a combined 2.29 million viewers and 381,000 A25-54 viewers. Combined with the first-run broadcast, that’s 3.76 million total and 772,000 demo viewers on Feb. 24.
