Donald Trump has emerged as the king of Sunday mornings.
CBS’ Face the Nation with John Dickerson was the top-rated Sunday public affairs program in total viewers on December 6. The guest? Trump. Last week, NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd finished first among total viewers. Why? Trump.
Dickerson also spoke with Chris Christie and Bernie Sanders as Face the Nation is up +31 percent in viewers and +14 percent in the key A25-54 demo compared to the same week last year. Despite FTN surpassing 4 million viewers for its largest audience since January 2015, Meet the Press edged out FTN for a victory in the key demo.
Meet the Press has now beaten FTN in the demo for six consecutive weeks, growing up +23 percent in viewers and up +18 percent percent in the demo. MTP also delivered an additional 1.29 million total viewers and 433,000 in the demo with rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
This Week George Stephanopoulos finished third in viewers despite surpassing 1 million A25-54 viewers to finish second in the demo with Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush as guests. Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace combined with cable replays for 3.78 million viewers. Replays on FNC averaged a combined 2.04 million total viewers and 256,000 in the demo – FNS did not repeat in its usual 2 a.m. ET slot on FNC.
Face the Nation is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 57.4 percent of the country.
