MTP’s 3.57 million total viewer delivery is No. 1 overall, +1 percent versus the comparable Sunday last year (12/4/16), and represents the Chuck Todd-anchored program’s largest margin of victory over CBS since August 13.
Despite finishing No. 1 in the key A25-54 demo as well, MTP but was -6 percent in the category versus last year.
CBS’s Face the Nation with John Dickerson slipped to second place in total viewers, and finished third in the key A25-54 demo.
The broadcast was -5 percent in total viewers, and -9 percent in the demo relative to last year.
Nevertheless, Face the Nation remains the most-watched Sunday politics program of the season to-date.
ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos took third place in total viewers, and second in the key A25-54 measurement. The program’s 3.02 million total viewer delivery represented its second-largest total audience of the broadcast season. Its 783,000 adults 25-54 total is more than Face the Nation’s demo delivery. In fact, This Week has out-performed its CBS rival in the demo for 6 of the past 7 weeks.
But this past Sunday broadcast was down from the previous year’s, -6 percent in total viewers and -11 percent among adults 25-54
Fox News Sunday hosted by Chris Wallace posted double digit audience declines versus the same Sunday in 2017, -14 percent in total viewers and -17 percent in the demo. The trio of cable replays delivered a combined 2.45 million total viewers and 455,000 demo viewers. Combined with the original Fox network broadcast, the Dec. 3 edition of Fox News Sunday delivered 3.94 million total viewers and 927,000 demo viewers.
