Sunday Show Ratings: August 9

CBS’ Face the Nation with John Dickerson was the top-rated Sunday public affairs program in total viewers on August 9. FTN was up +22 percent in viewers and + 17 percent in the key A25-54 demo, compared to the same week last year. Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump, Carly Fiorina, Dr. Ben Carson and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders were all interviewed on the program.

However, ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos won the key demo for the 11th consecutive Sunday. This Week was up +28 percent in viewers and +40 percent in the demo, making it eight out of nine weeks that This Week is up year-to-year in both categories.

NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd finished second in both categories, topping FTN in the demo and This Week in viewers. MTP is up +33 percent in viewers and +16 percent in the demo.

MTP delivered an additional 1.05 total viewers and 383,000 A25-54 viewers with rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC. Fox News Sunday combined with cable replays for 3.9 million viewers. Replays on FNC averaged a combined 2.58 million total viewers and 507,000 in the demo.

Face the Nation is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 76.3% of the country.
