Sunday Show Ratings: April 22

On the ratings front, was a rough week for the Sunday shows relative to last year.

NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd took first place across the board on April 22, and maintains its streak as the top Sunday show across all categories for the second consecutive year. Meet the Press has also won 19 consecutive Sundays in the key A25-54 demo.

But compared to the same Sunday in 2017, MTP was -4 percent in total viewers and -10 percent in the news demo from last year.

ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos took second place across the board, including among total viewers. It also posted its largest demo advantage of its CBS rival since Jan. 28, 2018. The broadcast posted the least severe audience losses versus last year, -4 percent in total viewers and -1 percent in the demo. This Week has now defeated CBS across the board on two consecutive Sundays, though to be fair, the previous Sunday was “Comey Day.”

It was a rough week on the ratings front for Face the Nation moderated by Margaret Brennan. The program finished No. 3 across the board, was -19 percent in total viewers and -31 percent in the news demo versus the same Sunday last year.

Fox News Sunday moderated by Chris Wallace on FOX was -7 percent in total viewers and -10 percent in the key demo versus last year. The trio of cable replays posted a combined 2.51 million total viewers and 479,000 demo viewers. Combined with the original Fox broadcast, the April 22 edition of Fox News Sunday posted 3.74 million total viewers and 841,000 A25-54 demo viewers.
