Andrea Canning‘s special, which revisited the Steven Avery case, gave NBC its highest rated Friday Dateline since November 2014.
The State of Wisconsin vs. Steve Avery picked up where the hit 10-hour Netflix documentary left off, and included new interviews with prosecutor Ken Kratz and Avery’s new attorney Kathleen Zellner.
Building on its lead-in of Grimm, the hour won the time period in the A18-49 (1.4) and A25-54 (1.8) demos, but, with 4.94 million viewers, came in third to CBS’s Blue Bloods (7.77 million) and ABC’s 20/20 (5.41 million).
