Snowed In Viewers Make 48 Hours Saturday’s No. 1 Show

By Chris Ariens

As we’ve been telling you, Saturday’s blizzard has meant big ratings for the TV networks: the Weather Channel had its biggest winter day since 2011, cable news saw a significant lift, and now the CBS News magazine 48 Hours had its largest audience of the season and its best A25-54 delivery in nearly a year. The episode titled, Live to Tell: My Name is Victoria, airing at 10 p.m. ET/PT, was Saturday’s No. 1 program in viewers averaging 5.62 million. That’s up +8 percent in viewers and up 25 percent in the demo vs. last year.

Other crime-focused shows on cable news, including Lockup on MSNBC and Forensic Files on HLN, also saw a viewership boost, in part due to increased viewing brought on by the blizzard.
