Skinner Breaks Vick News

By Chris Ariens

FNC was the first cable news network to report that NFL star Michael Vick had accepted a plea deal in the dog fighting case against him. Anchor Jane Skinner was first to report the news at 2:13pmET. MSNBC followed 90 seconds later, and CNN reported the news at 2:19pmET.

Interestingly, after Skinner reported the headline, she tossed to Shepard Smith and Judge Andrew Napolitano who discussed the legal issues surrounding the plea. An FNC insider tells TVNewser because Skinner is married to NFL commissioner Roger Goddell, Skinner has “recused herself from reporting on the story.” FNC producers had Smith ready to go in case the news broke during Skinner’s hour.
