CNN anchor Miles O’Brien is getting a fair amount of press this week. As “space correspondent,” he is in Florida for today’s space shuttle launch, after pulling a few nine and ten-hour days on the anchor desk.

> NY Daily News: “Had things gone differently, CNN’s Miles O’Brien could have been on the Space Shuttle right about now.”

> The Hollywood Reporter: On the subject of Discovery TV coverage: “There’s almost a direct parallel to when Discovery finally flew in 1988. Back then, there was a tremendous interest in the return to flight.”

> Galveston Daily News: “I want people to remember, this is risky business,” O’Brien says. “NASA made it seem routine. I made it seem routine, and it just simply is not routine.
simply is not routine. And I want people to understand that these (astronauts) are true explorers. To me that is an amazing story.”
