The President-elect may feel that CNN pushes “fake news,” but an anchor on a rival network seems to disagree. Fox News’ Shepard Smith made the following comments on his program this afternoon in support of the journalists at CNN.
“President-elect Trump today told CNN’s Jim Acosta that his organization amounts to fake news. CNN’s exclusive reporting on the Russian matter was separate and distinctly different from the document dump executed by an online news property,” said Smith. “Though we at Fox News cannot confirm CNN’s report, it is our observation that its correspondents followed journalistic standards and that neither they nor any other journalists should be subjected to belittling and delegitimizing by the President-elect of the United States.”
On the other hand, Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway tweeted a link to a story written by NBC News, supporting the bosses claim that CNN got it wrong.
From @nbc: Trump wasn’t told about unverified Russia dossier, official says. Will TV anchors/networks correct story? https://t.co/kCPRsFu3vf
