First on TVNewser: Senior vice president for CNN Productions Sid Bedingfield is leaving the company, CNN/U.S. president Jon Klein told staffers today.

Klein said: “All of us have a tremendous amount of admiration for Sid’s contributions to CNN over the years, and respect his decision to take this time to move on. He has been a trusted executive and friend to so many at CNN. He will surely be missed.”

Bedingfield oversaw the CNN News Group’s documentary and long-form programming, including CNN Presents. CNN senior executive producer for editorial content Mark Nelson will be running the unit on an interim basis.
