Scott Pelley Signs Off the CBS Evening News

Scott Pelley has anchored his final CBS Evening News and now returns full-time to 60 Minutes.

“We hope this has been something of a lighthouse for you to help you with your bearings in a stormy world,” said Pelley in his sign-off. “To the men and women of CBS News, my profound gratitude. Your nights away from your families, your 12-hour days, the days you risked your lives to bring light into the world leave me humbled.”

In his final words, Pelley took his cue from legendary CBS News man Edward R. Murrow:
