MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski see their Citadel Media syndicated radio program go on hiatus this week as the “Morning Joe” co-hosts prepare to expand and retool the program, reports the NY Times’ Brian Stelter. The new iteration will be extended from two hours (10am-12pm) to three hours:

In a statement, Mr. Scarborough said that Citadel “shares our vision of where talk radio is going in the future and will be working with us to expand ‘The Joe Scarborough Show’ into a three-hour program.” He added, “We look forward to the debut of the new show and know our listeners will appreciate the focus and direction we’ll be taking.”

Scarborough and Brzezinski’s radio program initially launched in December of 2008.
