Savannah Guthrie Gets The ‘Elle’ Treatment

By Alex Weprin

NBC “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie is profiled in the September issue of Elle magazine. Guthrie’s co-hosts Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Natalie Morales decided to highlight the feature on the show this morning.

“I think it’s outrageous that they put Kate Upton on the cover,” Lauer quipped.

As for the article itself, it delves into Guthrie’s personal life and her professional life:

Guthrie begins most days at 3 a.m. in her downtown apartment. (Feldman has a
place nearby, into which Guthrie is in the process of moving—before the wedding,
a fact that she says shows “I’m getting more liberal in my old age!”) If she’s not
out of bed by 4 a.m., she’s programmed her iPhone’s alarm to call her a “slacker,”
although she’d still be up earlier than any of her cohosts. “I haven’t seen an anchor
prepare the way she does,” says Today executive producer Don Nash. “She wants
to read every piece of background she can find. She is a real student of the interviews
she conducts.”
