During a “virtual debate” chat hosted on Shindig this afternoon, “Crossfire” co-host S.E. Cupp suggested the shows 7-week hiatus during CNN’s near-nonstop coverage of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 was no big deal.
“We missed ‘Crossfire’ as much as everyone else did, but the plan when Crossfire came back was to take a break when big breaking news happens,” Cupp said, adding that the show isn’t built to debate topics like where the missing plane was during the height of the story.
Her co-host Van Jones, agreed.
“I felt good about it because it turns out our [CNN’s] ratings doubled and tripled during that period, and it turns out we made a lot of money to dedicate to other stories,” Jones said during the video chat which was hosted by CNN.
