Royal Ratings For 20/20 Special

The ABC News special, “20/20: The Royal Family” won its two-hour time period handily last night. The special, running from 8-10pm, attracted 14.2 million Total Viewers, compared to second place NBC’s 9 million for game shows My Dad is Better Than Your Dad and Deal or No Deal.

The ratings were 20/20’s best in more than five years, since the Martin Bashir interview with Michael Jackson on February 6, 2003. This was also the highest-rated program on the ABC since November 26, 2007: the season finale of Dancing with the Stars.

The special, anchored by Barbara Walters, gave a behind-the-scenes look at the British royal family.
