Rick Kaplan’s Job In Jeopardy?

“After being passed over for a chance to replace NBC News chief Neal Shapiro, MSNBC boss Rick Kaplan‘s job is in jeopardy,” the New York Post buzzes. “Sources say Kaplan is likely to be out as the head of the ratings-challenged cable news network by the end of the year.

These sources say that Kaplan believes he should have been considered to replace Shapiro, despite failing to boost ratings at the network, which is ranked a distant third behind Fox News and CNN.”

> But: An NBC News spokeswoman denied Kaplan was on the ropes, saying “there’s absolutely no truth to it.”
