Reza Sayah Leaves CNN

RezaSayahCairo-based CNN correspondent Reza Sayah has left the network, TVNewser has learned.

Sayah, who has been with CNN since 2008, was named Cairo correspondent in November 2012. Before that, he covered South Asia, based in Islamabad. Sayah joined CNN from WXYZ-TV in Detroit. He’s also worked at WTVR-TV in Richmond, WTAJ-TV in Altoona, PA, and KOMU-TV in Columbia, MO, where he also attended graduate school.

Born in Tehran, Sayah’s family left for the U.S. in 1979 during the Islamic Revolution.

On Wednesday, another longtime CNNer, supervising producer Ric Ward left the network, to a standing ovation, we hear Ward, a 20-year CNN veteran, worked overnights at CNN HQ in Atlanta.
