Restarting Countdown at 10pmET

By SteveK

Countdown with Keith Olbermann will begin re-airing weeknights at 10pmET on March 17, as part of MSNBC’s major schedule changes announced today.

The repeat will go head-to-head with the live installments of On the Record with Greta Van Susteren on FNC and Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN. The two programs, previously competing with the Doc Block on MSNBC, are in a constant battle for first place in the A25-54 demo and in Total Viewers.

Anderson Cooper 360 won both categories last month (although the Total Viewer average was practically tied). The Doc Block regularly competes for the demo viewer lead on Friday nights.

Olbermann tells TVNewser, “All of us on Countdown never cease to be astounded and gratified by the loyalty of the 8pm audience (and especially those fierce DVR users). This move just lets us tap in to that group that can’t see us earlier and doesn’t like what they’re seeing later.”
