Republicans Dominated Sunday Shows in 2013

The Sunday shows booked more Republicans than Democrats in 2013, according to research done by “The Rachel Maddow Show.”

10 out of the top 13 guests appearing across the main Sunday shows were Republicans, with House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Mich) leading the way with 27 appearances (he was prominent during the NSA/Edward Snowden news cycle).

Former presidential candidate and Arizona Senator John McCain was next at 24 appearances, with CNN “Crossfire” co-host Newt Gingrich and Illinois Senator Dick Durbin tying for third place.

Others top politicos appearing on Sunday morning were Texas Senator Ted Cruz, New York Senator Chuck Schumer, and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul.

The data was compiled looking at guests on NBC’s “Meet The Press,” CBS’ “Face the Nation” ABC’s “This Week,” and “Fox News Sunday.”
