Remembering Peter: Through Music

“For Peter, jazz was more than just a form of music, it was a way of looking at life,” David Westin said today. And this sentiment translated to the memorial service: It was filled with music, as the Associated Press notes.
“Personal remembrances were interspersed with music — a gospel choir, violinist Natalie MacMaster, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, singer Alison Krauss and a jazz combo featuring Wynton Marsalis.” For many attendees, Marsalis will be memorable, but I thought MacMaster’s “Farewell to Peter” was even more moving…
