Remembering Peter: President Clinton Salutes “Remarkable Legacy”

By Brian

Former President Bill Clinton remembers Peter Jennings in a People Magazine essay:

“Peter leaves behind a remarkable legacy as a journalist. He was witness to the great events of the 20th century, and he achieved this vantage point through sheer determination, natural talent, intense curiosity and hard work.

He asked tough questions about hard issues, and pushed Americans to think about the problems of people beyond our borders, in Bosnia, the Middle East, Africa, and elsewhere. His voice was calm and reassuring in crisis, urging and passionate on human suffering, and always persistent and getting the story out. Blessed with more than just great intelligence, Peter had an insatiable curiosity and an impressive work ethic.”
