Chicago Sun-Times columnist Robert Feder reports that a public memorial service will be held Friday afternoon in the Windy City for legendary WLS-TV/Chicago newsman John Drury, who sometimes anchored weekend network newscasts for ABC News during the 1970’s.

Drury died Sunday, at age 80, of complications of ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Chicago’s Museum of Broadcast Communications has a video “Salute to John Drury” on its website.
