“Nightly News has now placed first for three months (12 consecutive weeks) since Williams became anchor and managing editor,” NBC’s press release says. “Since Williams became anchor, the NBC newscast has outperformed ABC by 7% (+735,000) and CBS by 40% (+3,062,000) among total viewers.”
But ABC says that since BW took over, World News Tonight has closed the gap by 32% among total viewers and 65% among the 25-54 demo. And NBC says that ABC’s lead-in advantage over NBC “continues to be way above normal.”
