Rather: “It’s Time For Me To Move On”

By Brian

“Legendary newsman Dan Rather‘s career at CBS is over, and could officially come to a close next week,” Richard Huff says. Rather’s quotes are becoming more and more concrete. “I’m going to move onto the next step of my career,” he says.

Friday’s Los Angeles Times includes this quote from the 74-year-old newsman: “If it had worked out for me to be an important contributor to CBS, I would have liked that. The work has not turned out what I hoped it would be, and under those circumstances, the network executives decided that I should go onto the next step of my work.”

> Also: Rather tells the Houston Chronicle: “I deal in facts and the facts are the contract is not being renewed, and it’s time for me to move on.”
