Rachel Maddow Had 3 of the Top 10 Cable Shows Last Week

It seems as though Pres. Trump is finding himself mired in more and more controversy as of late, and that usually means great ratings for MSNBC’s progressive lineup in prime time.

Rachel Maddow had a huge week, in particular. TRMS was the No. 1 cable news program for the week of Feb. 26, and the program had three broadcasts in the basic cable top 10 among total viewers.

Her Wednesday, Feb. 28 broadcast posted 3.29 million total viewers, No. 4 across all of basic cable. Her Thurs., March 1 broadcast posted 3.15 million total viewers, No. 6 across all of basic cable, and the Monday, Feb.26 broadcast posted 3.03 million total viewers, No. 8 across all of basic cable.

Tucker Carlson Tonight was FNC’s lone entry into the basic cable top 10 among total viewers, with the Monday telecast of TCT coming in at No. 7 (3.06 million viewers).

Various broadcasts of Hannity and Tucker Carlson filled up the top 20 in total viewers, ahead of all other MSNBC prime time fare.

Maddow’s big ratings last week led into a huge start this week. TRMS delivered nearly 3.4 million total viewers on Mon., March 5, No. 1 across all of basic cable, and even more than WWE Raw on USA. The broadcast ranked No. 10 across all of TV that night. This result is all the more notable considering beleaguered former Trump aide Sam Nunberg didn’t even appear on the program on Monday (one of the few news shows he actually didn’t appear on).
