Q3 2014 Ratings: Fox News is Most-Watched Cable Network

fox news logoIn addition to being the most-watched basic cable network for the quarter in primetime, Fox News Channel saw across-the-board growth vs. Q3 2013. FNC was up +2% in viewers and up +4% in the A25-54 demo for total day viewing and up +10% in viewers and up +11% in the demo in primetime.

The ratings for Q3, 2014 (Nielsen Live + Same Day data):

  • Primetime (Mon-Sun): 1,777,000 total viewers / 309,000 A25-54
  • Total Day Mon-Sun): 1,045,000 total viewers / 215,000 A25-54

FNC’s all-network total viewer win in extended primetime (7-11pmET) is its first since the network launched 18 years ago. Six of FNC’s programs were number one in total viewers on all of basic cable during their timeslots for the quarter, including “Fox & Friends,” “America’s Newsroom,” “The Five,” “Special Report with Bret Baier,” “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” and “The O’Reilly Factor.”

“On The Record” was up +16% in total viewers and up +8% in the A25-54 demo. Both “The Kelly File” and “Hannity” had their best quarters in the demo for their timeslots since Q4 2012, which included the presidential election.

For the 7th consecutive quarter, Fox News had the top 14 programs among total viewers.
