Pull Some Strings

Court TV’s legion of publicists is “pulling strings,” literally, to book their Smoking Gun TV series talent.

The network’s flacks have been pitching marionette and puppet versions of the all-star lineup — which include Diana Ross, Liza Minnelli, James Brown and the Bush twins — on the TV talk show circuit. Their hook is “big names without the big demands,” a staffer joked. “Bookers can even save on hair and makeup…just a little PLEDGE and a rag will do.”

There’s no word on whether any shows have booked the stars yet. “Smoking Gun TV” premieres tomorrow night at 11pm…
