Press Club Awards: CNN Receives Two; MSNBC.com Honored For “Rising From Ruin”

CNN, CNBC, and MSNBC.com are some of the winners of the 2006 National Press Club Awards.

As first reported by TVNewser, CNN’s Reliable Sources received the Arthur Rowse Award for Press Criticism. CNN also received the Robert L. Kozik Award for Environmental Reporting for “Melting Point,” a CNN Presents special about global warming.

Online, MSNBC.com received the Online Journalism Award for “Rising from Ruin: Two Towns Rebuild After Katrina.” MSNBC.com has been recognized “for the third consecutive year and the fourth time in five years,” the site notes. Yahoo!’s “Kevin Sites in the Hotzone” was an Honorable Mention.

> Also: In the Consumer Journalism category, CNBC’s Scott Cohn and Mark Lagerkvist received an Honorable Mention for “Burning Secret.”
