President Trump Will Not Attend White House Correspondents’ Dinner

The White House announced President Trump will, for the second year in a row, skip the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will represent the president at the dinner April 28.

Trump also sat out last year’s dinner explaining to Fox & Friends. “I do have great respect for the press and great respect for reporters,” Trump said in Feb. 2017, “but with all of that fake news and all of the things being said right now, I just thought it would be better if I didn’t do the dinner, that doesn’t mean I’m not going to do it next year but I just thought it would be better if I didn’t do it this year.”
