Pres. Obama wasn’t expecting questions during his Rose Garden appearance announcing partial reform to current immigration laws. But he got one. And it got heated. Just as the president was telling the crowd, “it is the right thing to do,” a member of the press corps interupted with a question. “Excuse me, sir,” said Obama. “It’s not time for questions, sir. Not while I’m speaking.”
A few minutes later, the president got back to his questioner:
“The answer to your question, sir, and the next time I prefer you let me finish my statements before you ask this question is this is the right thing to do for the American people. I didn’t ask for an argument,” said Obama. “I’m answering your question. It’s the right thing to do for the American people.”
The questioner is Neil Munro a reporter at Tucker Carlson’s Daily Caller. Munro, interestingly, was not born in the U.S., but in Ireland. The changes to the immigration law will cease deportations of anyone who was under age 16 when they were brought to the U.S. and raised here without legal documentation.
