Piers Morgan’s Big Month

By Alex Weprin

CNN host Piers Morgan has quietly had one of his strongest months yet since joining CNN.

In terms of bookings, Morgan has lined up interviews with guests that are not regulars on cable news, and in some cases only make media appearances once every few years. Justice Antonin Scalia, filmmaker Michael Moore and the former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf have all been on the show, while interviews with New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg, Senator John McCain and actor Robert Blake have all made news themselves. Tonight Morgan interviews Mitt Romney in London.

In the ratings, Morgan is CNN’s top program in total viewers, and is having its best week since February of this year.

With the Olympics still to come, Morgan is on track to have one of his strongest months editorially and ratings-wise since January of last year, when he started his show off with a bang and some big guests.
