Philippines Typhoon Coverage Enters Second Week

By Merrill Knox

As coverage of Typhoon Haiyan enters its second week, some changes to ABC News’ and CNN’s correspondents in the Philippines. ABC News’ Gloria Riviera will file her final report from Manila for tonight’s “World News.” She will relocate over the weekend. Ditto CNN’s Anderson Cooper, who will anchor “AC360” from the region tonight and travel back to the U.S. this weekend.

NBC News and CBS News will keep their correspondents on the ground at least through the weekend: Seth Doane is in the Philippines for CBS, and NBC has Dr. Nancy Synderman, Harry Smith and Ian Williams in the region. NBC also has a separate team of digital journalists there reporting for both NBCNews.com and the network’s broadcasts.

William LaJeunesse will continue to report from the region for Fox News throughout the weekend. CNN has a team of six correspondents in the region other than Cooper, including Nick Paton Walsh, Ivan Watson and Anna Coren. Another correspondent, Karl Penhaul, is en route to the Philippines.
