Pelley’s Pecs Provoke Provocative Patter

By Alex Weprin

“CBS Evening News” anchor Scott Pelley is already known by his colleagues to be a very fit guy. Indeed, it was noted in a profile by B&C‘s Andrea Morabito over the Summer that Pelley has a 50 minute workout every day, and that there is a gym in the room next to his office with weight machines and a treadmill.

Still, for TV viewers, the suit hides his fit frame. Until last night, when “60 Minutes” showed Pelley working out with actor Hugh Jackman.

The New York Daily News was blown away by the segment, and collected some of the reactions:

Moments after the segment aired, Twitter exploded with comments about the Pelley’s primetime eye candy.

“Scott Pelley blew my mind tonight. #60 minutes of beefcake,” tweeted actor Rob McElhenney, who plays Mac on the FX hit show “Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

The 55-year-old’s jacked build had female tweeters tonges wagging, and several people said they never imagined Pelley to be in such great shape.

“Raise your hand if you saw Scott Pelley’s hulked-out upper body coming. Does CBS News have an in-house Equinox?” one viewer marveled.
