Pelley: One Of 60 Minutes’ “Heavy Hitters”

CBS News correspondent Scott Pelley “went to the bottom of the world to get to the bottom of the story on global warming for this Sunday’s 60 Minutes,” a CBS press release noted on Tuesday. “He and his 60 Minutes camera and production crew climbed up a glacier in Antarctica for 11 hours — roped together in case anyone should fall into a crevasse — to get to the top of a glacier where the fastest warming on earth is taking place.”

Pelley “has emerged as one of the newsmagazine’s heavy hitters,” USA Today’s Peter Johnson says. “He has reported more than a dozen stories this season…”
