O’Reilly: ‘They Hate Me Because I Represent Something That is Very Feared in America’

By Jordan Chariton

On “MediaBuzz” Sunday, Bill O’Reilly sparred with Howard Kurtz about whether “The O’Reilly Factor” host has become more accepted in the mainstream media.

Listing off the major programs O’Reilly has visited to promote his new book, Kurtz suggested that the “narrative” of O’Reilly vs. the media elite is no longer prevalent, and that O’Reilly is a more accepted figure than in years prior.

“I disagree with you,” O’Reilly shot back. “They hate me because I represent something that is very feared in America. I made my success outside of the establishment—that’s how I did it—and they don’t like that.” O’Reilly foreshadows if he ever falls, the mainstream media will be like “jackals on my carcass.”
