Millions of curious Fox News Sunday viewers tuned in to watch the Chris Wallace interview President Obama at various points throughout the day. Some tuned into the original morning telecast on Fox TV, and even more tuned into the Fox News replays at 2 p.m., 6 p.m., 9 p.m., 12 a.m., and 2 a.m. Monday.
According to early Nielsen data, the original airing of the interview delivered 1.6 million viewers and 516,000 in the key 25-54 demo. These averages are roughly on par with the previous week.
Fox News’ five rebroadcasts brought in an additional 3.8 million viewers and 800,000 adults 25-54. All in, yesterday’s Fox News Sunday delivered a combined 5.45 million total viewers, and 1.3 million in the news demo.
If we look at year-over-year performance, yesterday’s installment was up +26 percent in total viewers and +25 percent in the news demo compared to same day last year.
As of now, it looks as though yesterday’s showing across broadcast and cable will deliver the second-most total viewers of any episode in 2016. Final live+ same day data will be available Thursday.
