FNC’s Carl Cameron caught up with Mitt Romney on the campaign trail in Naples, Florida to comment on Fred Thompson dropping out of the GOP race. A little more than an hour before the Romney interview, Cameron broke the news that Thompson was getting out.
Romney told Cameron of his mixed feelings regarding Thompson dropping out. “He is a great Senator and someone who brought a lot of interest to the debates,” said Romney. “His leaving the race is sad for those who were big fans of his, but probably with help my effort to bring together the Reagan Coalition individuals so it should be a bit of a push for me.”
