At 12:50pmET this afternoon, President Obama held a news conference from the East Room at the White House to address the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
As the AP points out, the president “held 12 full blown news conferences last year. He has held two so far this year, and none since the oil spill began.”
The conference are being carried live by the four broadcast nets with George Stephanopoulos on ABC, Harry Smith on CBS, and Brian Williams on NBC. FOX broadcast also aired a special report anchored by Gregg Jarrett in NYC with Chris Wallace in DC.
CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC are also carrying the remarks. HLN took them initially, but said they would continue to monitor.
All three business nets also took the news conference.
The Weather Channel took the president’s remarks as well. They were also broadcast on C-SPAN3.
