NYPD Boss Regrets Sitting with Al Sharpton

By Brian Flood

al sharptonNYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton admitted it was “probably a bad idea” to appear with MSNBC’s Al Sharpton during a City Hall round-table event  last summer, according to New York Magazine.

The July 31 event to discuss the death of Eric Garner featured NYC mayor Bill de Blasio with Sharpton and Bratton seated on each side of him. Sharpton was recently called “a poster boy for hating the police,” by former mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Sharpton told the New York Post that Bratton’s comments were “not consistent with the facts” and that the two have attended meetings together since the roundtable.
