November 2011 Ratings: Fox News Still Dominant, But Down

In the month of November Fox News had the 13 most-watched shows in cable news. In younger viewers 9 of the top 10 shows air on Fox News and the network was the third most-watched cable news channel after ESPN and USA.

The ratings for November, 2011:

  • Primetime (Mon-Sun): 1.739M Total Viewers / 368K A25-54
  • Total Day (Mon-Sun): 1.048M Total Viewers / 259K A25-54

And while the network is by far the most watched in cable news, year-over-year FNC is down -13% in Total Viewers and down -16% in A25-54 viewers for Total Day viewing. In Primetime the network is down -19% among Total Viewers and down -30% in A25-54 viewers.

“Special Report with Bret Baier” and “FOX Report with Shepard Smith” were the #3 and #4 shows in all of cable behind perennial #1 “The O’Reilly Factor” and most-often #2 “Hannity.”

“The Five” had its best month since its July debut beating CNN’s “The Situation Room” and MSNBC’s “Hardball” combined in both Total Viewers and A25-54 during the 5pmET timeslot, but a dropoff from “Glenn Beck” which aired at this time last year: down -34% in Total Viewers and down -37% in younger viewers.
