NBC’s Lester Holt gives Nightly News a total viewer win for the fourth consecutive week, while also claiming the key A25-54 demo. Nightly News has won both categories every week since Holt was officially named anchor. Nightly News has now won among total viewers for five of the last six weeks, nine of the last 12 weeks and 297 of the last 304 weeks.
Meanwhile, ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir finishes second in both categories, while the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley ranks third in both viewers and the demo. Compared to the same week last year, Nightly News was up slightly in total viewers +5 percent in the demo. World News Tonight was up +3 percent in viewers but down -4% in the demo, while Evening New was up +4 percent in viewers and down -2 percent in the demo.
