An interesting item in Page Six today:
“Diane Sawyer will take over for Charlie Gibson when he steps down as anchor of World News Tonight after the 2008 presidential election, TV insiders agree. But there are different theories as to what the Good Morning America co-host will do until then. Don’t believe the rumor that the brainy blonde will leave ABC for CNN to take over for Larry King. The main reason Sawyer wouldn’t go from network to cable is that fewer people would see her. The latest scenario has Sawyer taking over Nightline.”
Meanwhile, a “source close to Sawyer” says “all these scenarios are total bunk…”
