> On FNC, Greta Van Susteren anchored from 10pm to midnight, and Rita Cosby took over into the early morning hours. Their coverage was labeled “Justice Under Attack.”

> CNN went to tape at 11pm, but returned to live coverage hosted by Miles O’Brien during the early morning hours. NewsNight’s coverage was titled “Justice Under Fire.”

> MSNBC was very aggressive covering the manhunt on Friday night — they knew viewers wanted to keep up with the story. Dan Abrams hosted a special hour of coverage at 9, and Joe Scarborough continued at 10pm.

> On Headline News, Nancy Grace said “the scales of justice [were] tipped by violence.” Here’s the transcript of her show. She anchored from Atlanta and interviewed several eyewitnesses. The show was “sensational,” an e-mailer says. “The guests were outstanding. Nancy became a star tonight.”

> “This is a time when cable is great — when they can jump on a story that’s breaking,” one cable exec said.
