CNN anchor Betty Nguyen will receive the “Outstanding Young Texas Exes Award,” this Saturday at the University of Texas.
Nguyen joins other Texas celebrities who have been honored with the award — a list that includes Matthew McConaughey and former White House press secretary Scott McClellan.
Born in Saigon, Vietnam, Nguyen grew up in Texas and attended U of T, graduating magna cum laude.

According to the release, “The Texas Exes was founded in 1885 to praise, promote, and protect the university.”
