Fred Burrows, the senior vice president and director of affiliate relations for CNN Newsource, died on Friday.
In an e-mail to his friends and colleagues on Friday, CNN executive vice president Susan Grant wrote:
“Fred touched everyone he worked with here. We will remember him for how much he meant to the desk and to Newsource, but more importantly, for how much he was our friend. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.”
ShopTalk says Burrow “was instrumental in devising what are now industry standards in affiliate news services, including generic live shots, services and affiliate seminars. Fred also produced and managed the first national convention coverage for CNN’s affiliates.” More…
