New EPs Named at Fox Morning Shows

TVNewser has learned some changes are coming to the mornings at Fox News and the FOX TV stations. Lauren Petterson returns to Fox News Channel as executive producer of Fox and Friends. She rejoins FNC from WCBS-TV. Meanwhile, longtime Fox News producer David Brown moves from EP duties at Fox & Friends to the top job at the syndicated The Morning Show with Mike & Juliet. Nancy Duffy, who had been EP of Mike & Juliet moves to Special Projects for Fox News.

DAVID BROWN NAMED EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF “THE MORNING SHOW WITH MIKE AND JULIET”

David Brown has been named Executive Producer of “The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet,” announced Kevin Magee, the show’s Executive in Charge of Production. Brown replaces Nancy Duffy, who will now be working on special projects for Fox News.

In making the announcement, Magee stated, “David is a seasoned producer with a proven record of success. His demonstrated ability to guide a show that combines fun, entertaining segments with topical, news of the day discussions made him the ideal choice for this position.”

Prior to joining “The Morning Show” Brown was the Executive Producer of Fox News Channel’s daily morning news and entertainment program, “FOX & Friends.” Before that he served as the Executive Producer of Weekend Prime Time programming for FNC, where he was responsible for overseeing programming such as “Geraldo at Large.” Earlier, he held Senior Producer positions with a variety of FNC programs, including “The O’Reilly Factor,” and “On The Record with Greta Van Susteren.”

Added Brown, “I’m looking forward to working with ‘The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet’ staff to build on the program’s successes and integrate new ideas and segments that speak to the interests and needs of today’s daytime television viewer.”

Now in its second year of national syndication, “The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet” features a unique mix of celebrity interviews, audience participation and engaging segments about topics relating to viewers lives. Hosts Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy lend their dynamic personalities to discussions concerning hot topics in pop culture; family-focused subjects, such as women’s health, fashion, parenting and relationships; and general entertainment. The program is broadcast daily from the FOX studios in New York, Monday through Friday.

LAUREN PETTERSON RETURNS TO FOX NEWS CHANNEL AS EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

FOX News Channel (FNC) has named Lauren Petterson Executive Producer for the network’s morning show, FOX & Friends, announced Bill Shine, Senior Vice President, Programming. In this capacity, Petterson will oversee the production and programming of FNC’s signature morning program.

Petterson is replacing Dave Brown who has been appointed the Executive Producer of Twentieth Television’s syndicated morning program, The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet.

Making her return to FOX News Channel, Petterson most recently was the Executive Producer of the 11PM newscast WCBS-TV. Prior to CBS 2 News, she was the Senior Producer for FOX & Friends at FNC. Before that, Petterson served as the Executive Producer for WB 11’s Morning News since 2002. Her previous roles at networks include: Producer, WCBS; Associate Producer, WNBC; Associate Producer, News 12 Long Island and Producer, WNYT, Newschannel 13.

Petterson is the recipient of two Emmy awards: Best Morning Show in 2005 and Coverage of a Special Event in 2004. She graduated Magna cum Laude from the University at Albany.
