Networks Break In with Special Reports on Clinton Email Investigation

ABC and CBS News aired special reports Friday evening, as Hillary Clinton made her first comments on reports the FBI was reviewing emails that had previously not been part of the Clinton private email server investigation.

“We come on the air tonight,” began ABC’s David Muir shortly after 7 p.m. ET, “because Hillary Clinton is addressing the FBI bombshell today. The FBI revealing new emails have been discovered, and will be investigated.”

Clinton made a statement, saying she was “confident” the FBI would not “change the conclusion reached in July,” and said it was “imperative” for the FBI to “explain this issue … without delay.”

CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley later reported the emails were found on a laptop shared by Anthony Weiner and Clinton aide Huma Abedin:
