Remember those meetings Attorney General Eric Holder was planning with news organizations over the next few weeks? It seems that they were off the record, and a number of outlets are not happy about this fact.
CNN, the AP, the NY Times and others are declining to meet with holder as long as the meetings are kept off the record. It isn’t yet clear whether ABC News or NBC News will attend the meetings.
Update: HuffPost’s Michael Calderone reports that ABC News, Politico and The Washington Post will attend the meetings. Fox News will not attend if it is off the record:

From CBS News: “CBS News does not plan to participate in the off-the-record meeting with Attorney General Eric Holder. We would be willing to consider an on-the-record discussion.”

The Associated Press issued a statement Wednesday objecting to plans for the meetings to be off the record. “If it is not on the record, AP will not attend and instead will offer our views on how the regulations should be updated in an open letter,” said Erin Madigan White, the AP’s media relations manager…
Like the New York Times and the Associated Press, CNN will decline the invitation for an off-the-record meeting. A CNN spokesperson says if the meeting with the attorney general is on the record, CNN would plan to participate.
