NBC is quite proud of the Senate Debate Series on Meet the Press, and rightfully so. The network aired six candidate debates between Sept. 3 and Oct. 29. They were moderated by Tim Russert. Quoting the press release:
“The six debates with Senate candidates from Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Missouri, Minnesota and Maryland had a combined reach of 17.879 million unduplicated viewers on NBC. Overall, the six debates averaged an impressive 3.740 million total viewers each week, 38% more (+1,029,000) than CBS Face the Nation, 54% more (+1,312,000) than ABC This Week, and 201% more (+2,496,000) than FOX News Sunday. In addition, replays of the “Senate Debate Series” on MSNBC reached an additional 4.514 million viewers.”
